Feeling Stuck in a Dead End Job? - Part 1
FEELING STUCK – Out-of-Work or in a Dead-End Job? Can’t seem to get your foot in the door? Or in the door elsewhere? Do you regularly scroll through online job boards like Monster.com or Indeed? Submit your resume for job after job, but NEVER HEAR BACK? It does not mean that you don’t have valuable skills and talents to contribute. These two workshops (March 14 and March 28) are about getting unstuck and moving forward, and will introduce you to a different, more effective approach to getting your foot in the door and finding a position that matches you.
Part 1: In this first session, you will begin to clarify the kind of job that you want – and one that will energize you and make use of your strengths and skills. You will also learn about job-seeking strategies to enable you to uncover career/job opportunities that match your interests, talents, and goals, and to connect with potential “door openers.” You will leave with greater clarity about your goals and motivated to begin to identify and take those next steps!
Part 2: This session will delve more deeply into the “HOW-TO’s” of finding and connecting with potential “door openers.” Meeting and talking with people who work in your field(s) of interest can truly expand opportunities. You will leave with tips on how to initiate a conversation with potential “door openers,” how to make the most of a “networking” conversation, and how to open doors with greater confidence.
