Wednesday Wonders of Science
The third Wednesday of every month, come learn about a fascinating aspect of science and the world around us. Our presenters will discuss a different topic each month.
Our September speaker will be Dr. Vivek Jain, Associate Professor of Physics at U Albany, who will talk about the Standard Model of Particle Physics, its successes and failings. He will discuss results from experiments operating at the Large Hadron Collider in CERN, Switzerland, including the discovery of the Higgs boson, and the need for new physics, e.g., dark matter, extra dimensions. Dr. Jain is a member of the ATLAS experiment at CERN. For adults and teens.
