[For All Ages] Join us for a discussion with three Upstate Latino Artists moderated by Upstate Gallery owner Laudelina Martinez. What are Latino Artists in Upstate New York up to presently? In this virtual presentation presented over Zoom, three Latino Artists will talk about their latest projects and ideas behind their recent work, as they are interviewed by Laudelina Martinez, gallerist of the Martinez Gallery. Artwork will be presented throughout the discussion. We will explore Themes in Latino Art for National Hispanic Heritage Month!
Artist Bio: Armando Soto, a painter, part of the Nuyorican Movement, is a resident of Troy. He was one of the founders of
NYC's Taller Boricua and regularly teaches at the Arts Center of the Capital Region.
Artist Bio: Juan Luis Lopez Fons, is a filmmaker and videographer who lives in Saratoga County. Originally from Mexico,
Juan Luis owns a production company called Emotivo Productions.
Artist Bio: Miguel Martinez- Riddle, born in NYC, is a visual artist who lives in Fleischmann's Village, Delaware County. He has
taught art and design at the college level; has worked as a fabricator and made museum installations; and was elected
to office as a local Tax Assessor.
Our Facilitator: Laudelina Martinez
Laudelina Martinez is the founder and owner of Martinez Gallery in Troy, NY, established in 2001. Martinez has curated more than 90 exhibitions for the Gallery and other venues, and is an active advocate for the arts.
