1st Saturday for Families: Women's History Month Celebration
[For children 2-8 and their caregivers.] During this program we will be learning about two very important women in history. Mae Jemison became the first African American woman astronaut in 1987, and was the first African American woman in space in 1992. Jane Goodall has studied and worked with chimpanzees for over 60 years and is a United Nations Messenger of Peace. Our craft activity this month will be part space and part chimpanzee. Do you wonder how space and a chimpanzee go together?! You’ll have to join us to find out! There will be a limit of two takeaway craft bags per family. You can pick up bags at the Bach Branch or the Washington Ave. Branch. Once registered, stop by your chosen branch beginning February 28 to pick up your bags. Bags are available to pick up February 28-March 4. The URL to the event will be emailed to you two days before the program and early on Saturday, March 5.
Note: This program will not be live, but will premiere on our YouTube Channel at 10:30am on the day of the event. (Can’t make it at that time? That’s ok! It’ll be available on YouTube afterwards.)
If you have any questions about registration, please call the Youth Services Desk at the Washington Avenue Branch at 518-427-4300 ext. 0310.
