Local Author Book Talk- Hundred-Mile Home: a Story Map of Albany, Troy & the Hudson River with Susan Petrie

[For Adults]  Join us for a Local History Month Program at the Pine Hills Branch on Monday May 23rd at 6:30pm.  Susan Petrie will be discussing her book, Hundred-Mile Home: a Story Map of Albany, Troy & the Hudson River. It is about her discoveries along the Hudson — both human and natural —  about finding the story of where I am from. It follows a geographic circle, from Troy (where she was born), across the river, through Watervliet and Albany, south down one side of the Hudson to the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, then back up the other side.  Her book is a story map, which means it is personal, not authoritative. Anyone who explores the same 100 miles will return with a different story to tell.

She will be reading some poems, and sharing photographs and artifacts from the area to show how fun it has been to find home.

We hope you can join us!
